Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Using our manufacturer’s technology, design and implement energy storage systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate the feasibility of battery installations.
- Create engineering plans, specifications, and layouts for electricity storage implementation.
- Perform system simulations and energy yield predictions to optimise system performance.
- Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers and clients to ensure successful project execution.
- Liaise and work with software designers, including university departments, to improve battery storage control systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the installation, commissioning and operation of solar energy systems.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in battery technology and renewable energy storage solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the scale-up and commercialisation of new battery technologies.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in battery installation design, management and implementation.
- Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and battery materials.
- Strong understanding of software control of energy storage systems.
- Proficiency in battery modelling and simulation software.
- Hands-on experience with battery testing equipment and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations related to energy storage systems.
- Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with energy storage systems for solar, wind or other renewable energy applications.
- Certified engineer.
- Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS) and power electronics.
- Knowledge of lifecycle analysis and sustainability assessment for battery technologies.
- Experience with project management and coordination in a technical environment.
