Responsibilities

  • Oversee all destructive and non-destructive testing activities.
  • Develop testing strategies, liaise with test houses for quotes, schedules, and installation, and attend domestic and international tests to report findings and propose corrective actions.
  • Approve final test products (FAT), ensuring compliance with test standards and maintaining test reports and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on product viability, NPD opportunities, and business case development, while reviewing tenders for assurance compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 procedures.
  • Maintain alignment with company values, and meet project timelines and departmental objectives.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets and holiday requests.
  • Keep up to date with technological advancements.

Key Requirements for this Assurance Engineer role

  • 3+ years of experience in the application of engineering standards.
  • HND in Engineering minimum + bachelor\’s degree in engineering or science.
  • Understanding of steel plate manufacturing principles and constraints (incl. welding).
  • Understanding of load paths, failure modes, and operating limits of steel structures/components.
  • Proven working knowledge of technical standards for design and testing, relevant to BIIL core markets and products.
  • Ability to utilise Autodesk 3D Inventor, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Vault.
  • Hold a valid SC Clearance or ability to obtain it.

Package offered for this Assurance Engineer role

  • £32,000 – £38,000 salary (depending on experience).
