Responsibilities
- Oversee all destructive and non-destructive testing activities.
- Develop testing strategies, liaise with test houses for quotes, schedules, and installation, and attend domestic and international tests to report findings and propose corrective actions.
- Approve final test products (FAT), ensuring compliance with test standards and maintaining test reports and related documentation.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on product viability, NPD opportunities, and business case development, while reviewing tenders for assurance compliance.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 procedures.
- Maintain alignment with company values, and meet project timelines and departmental objectives.
- Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets and holiday requests.
- Keep up to date with technological advancements.
Key Requirements for this Assurance Engineer role
- 3+ years of experience in the application of engineering standards.
- HND in Engineering minimum + bachelor\’s degree in engineering or science.
- Understanding of steel plate manufacturing principles and constraints (incl. welding).
- Understanding of load paths, failure modes, and operating limits of steel structures/components.
- Proven working knowledge of technical standards for design and testing, relevant to BIIL core markets and products.
- Ability to utilise Autodesk 3D Inventor, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Vault.
- Hold a valid SC Clearance or ability to obtain it.
Package offered for this Assurance Engineer role
- £32,000 – £38,000 salary (depending on experience).
