Associate, Global Investment Banking, Mining (London)

Job Description

What is the opportunity? To provide Investment Banking services to corporate and private equity clients within the Mining sector.

What will you do?

1. Assisting in execution of mandated deals
2. Assisting in preparation of marketing pitchbooks and related materials
3. Gathering public information through numerous sources
4. Creating financial model analyses
5. Generating discounted cash flow models and other valuation models
6. Building company forecast models
7. Drafting marketing documents such as Confidential Information Memorandums for financings and/or sell-side assignments
8. Producing and maintaining various databases
9. General research

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

• University educated or equivalent
• Previous M&A advisory experience (Investment Banking / Accountants)
• Demonstrable Investment Banking transaction experience and understanding of valuation approaches
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic individual
• Good lateral thinker, imaginative, creative and proactive
• Ability to source, analyse and apply relevant information
• Rigorous work ethic
• Works well under pressure
• Strong analytical skills (financial modelling)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Advanced computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Nice to have

• M&A experience within Big 4 or Investment Bank
• European language skills are favorable
