The role of Product Specialist Trader will be responsible for performing trade execution across a range of asset classes and markets for HSBC UK’s Advisory, Discretionary, and Execution Only business. This role will also work as part of a team that covers the US market between 13:30 – 21:30 on a rota basis; therefore, the successful candidate must have the flexibility to work to this schedule.
In this role you will:
- Perform trade execution of equities, fixed income, funds, FX (spot & forward), bullion, Dual Currency Investments, and OTC derivatives.
- Have direct client contact to confirm investment instructions, relay market and pricing information, and explain the trading capabilities of the desk.
- Provide support to Investment Counsellors and Relationship Managers, including order entry into Front Office systems.
- Promote execution capabilities both internally and to Private Bank’s client base.
- Work closely with Back Office and Operations on process enhancements and investigation of failed trades.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Significant experience of performing trade execution — essential.
- In-depth working knowledge of a range of asset classes, specifically Bonds, FX, and Equities, would be desirable.
- Private Banking or Wealth Management experience — essential.
- A very high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
- CISI Level 4 qualified or equivalent regulated qualifications — essential.
This role is based in London.
