We are assisting a client in their recruitment campaign.

About
A boutique private client tax firm based in Hammersmith, West London, specialising in US & UK tax. We work closely with high-net-worth individuals, many who are subject to both UK and US taxes, to help them understand and navigate the complexities of US & UK tax in the most efficient way, as well as preparing their UK and US tax returns.

We are currently recruiting and would love to hear from experienced senior associates or assistant managers, to join and complement our team of sixteen staff.

Founded in 2009, the firm today is owned by an Employer Ownership Trust – for the benefit of all its employees. We aim to operate a collegiate culture in our tight knit team where we support and care for each other as well as our clients.

We are in our fifteenth year of operation but still retain our entrepreneurial spirit, something important to our approach and culture. As such, in addition to a competitive salary, we operate an annual EOT bonus and a profit-based bonus scheme that links personal performance and business performance to create an exception overall package.

We are a small business and there is the potential to have a big impact in this role. We involve everyone in the running of the business and development of commercial skills.

A successful candidate will join a diverse team of driven and friendly professionals working in a relaxed environment. There are flexible working hours and while we firmly believe there is significant benefit to all our team when we are in the office together (this should be the substantive portion of our working time), we do provide the technology and availability for home working when it is needed.

About You
We are looking for a determined, ambitious and driven individual who thrives working in a collaborative environment. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as excellent organisation and numeracy skills.

We expect experience in the UK/US tax space and completion of or progression towards EA and ATT qualifications.

The Role
As an assistant manager you will have a client list and be responsible for day-to-day management of their tax return preparation, projects and the wider client relationship under the support of senior management and directors.

In addition, you will be expected to have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and constructively at a variety of levels with clients, their other professional advisors, and your colleagues.

Main responsibilities:

  • Preparation of complex US & UK tax returns. Confidence and ability to start reviewing simple US/UK tax returns and communicating points back to the team.
  • Tracking of tax return status on internal systems for reporting purposes.
  • Delegating work to junior members of the team and having the ability to train and develop their understanding in both technical and soft skills.
  • Assisting with client management, building relationships with clients, and managing work in progress with prompt billing and cash collection.

Professional Training

We firmly believe that having a highly knowledgeable team is key to our success.

We want to provide opportunities for development and career progression. As such, we provide ongoing internal learning sessions and training throughout the year to keep developing skills and knowledge.

In addition, we will provide financial support and study leave if you wish to pursue further qualifications.

What You Need

Our minimum requirements are:

  • 3-4 years of experience with US & UK taxes.
  • EA (or partly qualified) and ATT qualified.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
