Job Description:

Dakota Hotel based inMotherwellare seeking a strong team leader with the highest standards of cleanliness for the role of Assistant Housekeeping Manager.

CONTRACT AND PAY RATE

The gross annual
salary is £26,500.

The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 37.5 hours per week
and typical shifts will be 8am – 4pm weekdays, or 9am – 5pm weekends, working any 5 days out of 7.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Alongside the Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible
for the cleaning and housekeeping function as a whole, including our bedrooms,
public areas, back of house areas and our events space. The primary
responsibilities of the role are:

  • Work with
    meticulous attention to detail when checking standards of cleanliness, and
    oversee that all 92 bedrooms, public areas and events spaces are in
    accordance with brand standards.
  • As the head
    of department, carry out HR tasks such onboarding and developing your
    team; implementing New Start Training Plans, holding reviews and
    appraisals, carrying out return to work interviews, and providing daily
    guidance.
  • Working
    closely with the Maintenance Team to maintain the highest standards
    ensuring that the whole building isaesthetically well-maintained.
  • Working
    alongside the Senior Night Manager to ensure that nights cleaning
    checklists are developed and maintained, so that highest standards of
    cleanliness are maintained at all times of the day.
  • Maintain
    strong communication links and effective coordination with other
    departments, particularly maintenance and reception, and work with
    proactive forethought regarding the operation of the entire hotel.
  • Schedule a
    departmental rota in line with budgeted payroll costs and forecasted room
    sales, whilst managing holiday usage.

92-bedroom boutique hotel which boasts a destination Bar & Grill restaurant

Our location is easily accessible by car and we offer complimentary
parking for both employees and guests. Additionally, there are frequent buses
using the CityLink 900 route, only 20 minutes from Buchanan St Bus Station
directly to our hotel.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant will have/be:

  • A minimum
    of four years hotel and/or cleaning working experience [required].
  • A minimum
    of two years experience in a managerial role [required].
  • Strong
    leadership skills and experience in supervising or managing a team
    [required]
  • Working
    experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel [beneficial].
  • Excellent
    attention to detail with a passion for upholding the highest standards of
    cleanliness.
  • Be fully
    computer literate with experience in writing rotas [required].
  • Have a
    working knowledge of health and safety guidelines and practices,
    particularly COSHH regulations [beneficial].
  • Be able to be physically
    active in your role, standing for much of your shift and working at
    pace.
  • An enthusiastic individual
    who will promote our culture of positivity.
  • Be task oriented with a
    great pride for the work they do and attention to detail.
  • Flexible with shift
    patterns and available around the needs of our business.
  • Successful candidates must
    demonstrate having researched our brand and a genuine desire to be part of
