Assistant Director of Expressive Arts – Manchester – Temp to Perm

Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama to join a school in Manchester as soon as possible on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.

This role is suitable for middle leaders or individuals ready to become second in department, aiming to enhance their experience, as well as outstanding teachers seeking their first middle leadership position.

The pupils are proud of their school, showing kindness and respect, with staff caring about their well-being. The leadership maintains high expectations, resulting in a calm, orderly environment. Classroom routines are well established, supported by a strong reward system. The school fosters a strong community, engaging in outreach and charity work locally and further afield.

The successful candidate will develop an engaging curriculum suited to diverse learners and make a positive impact on students\’ lives. They should be a committed team player with excellent organisational and motivational skills, capable of leading experienced Religious Education teachers and mentoring less experienced staff. The role involves supporting students and staff, managing classroom behaviour, and teaching about Catholic Christianity, other world religions, and secular views to help students develop personal beliefs.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Religious Studies or related field
  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent
  • Experience teaching English in a UK school
  • Ability to teach GCSE standard
  • Ability to coach and motivate colleagues to meet targets
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding attainment
  • Creative and innovative teaching approaches to engage learners

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS registered with the update service or willingness to obtain one
