OUR CLIENT is a fast expanding commercial and residential property management company with a central London portfolio. They pride themselves on the service they offer their clients who range from UK investment companies to high net worth individuals. They are now looking for an Assistant Client Accountant to join their vibrant and growing accounting team.

The Assistant Client Accountant will be responsible for:

  1. Working on a portfolio of commercial assets and residential blocks.
  2. Assisting in preparing service charge year-end accounts for submission to accountants, collating documents for send-off to external auditors, and liaising with the auditors and property managers to check draft accounts before finalisation.
  3. Receiving incoming monies to correct leaseholder accounts.
  4. Monthly reconciliation of client bank accounts.
  5. Calling and chasing unpaid rents/service charges, sending out arrears letters, and liaising with solicitors to recover payments when necessary. Reporting to clients on unpaid rents where required.
  6. Dealing with commercial property deposits.
  7. Drawing up competition statements when a new lease is signed.
  8. Monthly and quarterly client reporting with possible rent transfers to clients.
  9. Handling queries from Tenants/Leaseholders, Suppliers, Clients, and Accountants.
  10. Updating the system following lease renewals, expiries, etc.
  11. Assisting in preparing VAT returns.
  12. Sending year-end accounts and balancing charges with cover letters to tenants/leaseholders.
  13. Preparing quarterly (and sometimes monthly) Variance Reports.
