About the Job
The Assistant Cashier Manager supports the Cashier Manager in overseeing store cashiering operations. This role involves supervising a team of 7, ensuring accurate customer transactions, maintaining cash registers, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Till Management: Manage tills, handle customer queries, and ensure security at the cash desk. Control cash handling procedures and investigate discrepancies. Manage cash in hand.
- Team Management: Assist in supervising and training the cashier team. Conduct ongoing coaching to maintain high performance. Ensure team adherence to brand-specific processes. Organize weekly team meetings to share processes and sales targets.
- Customer Service: Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints. Ensure a positive shopping experience. Handle transactions efficiently and courteously.
- Administration: Upload prices to the till software and prepare point-of-sale signage. Liaise with account managers regarding commercial activities and sales results. Report client feedback to management. Maintain checkout areas' cleanliness and organization. Enforce store policies and procedures. Assist with inventory management and supplies ordering.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- At least 2 years of cashier or retail experience in high-volume stores (e.g., Zara, H&M, TK Maxx).
- Supervisory experience is advantageous.
