Job Description:
We breed sports horses, mainly for dressage. The stud is situated in a magical location in East Dorset.
Our horses are kept in herds and live out 24/7 unless stabled. We have a dedicated team for maintenance, groundwork training, farrier, and vet, all living on-site. Our goal is to develop a solid foundation in our horses, both mentally and physically, ensuring they are sound, confident, and well-prepared for work and competition at advanced levels as they grow older.
We are looking for like-minded horse lovers—calm, clever, funny, collected—to join our brilliant team. We maintain high standards of care and expect our staff to be fully committed daily. We collaborate with Haddon training, offering both ridden and non-ridden pathways. Opportunities include training with top horses and professionals, and gaining insights into veterinary practices during stud season, including artificial insemination and embryo transfer.
Applicants should have experience handling foals, young horses, and fit competition horses. Training is linked with the Haddon Apprenticeship Scheme.
We welcome applicants ranging from school leavers seeking a horsey gap year to experienced staff looking for an enjoyable job within our team.
We offer great opportunities for hardworking and committed team members, including an apprenticeship salary, a 30-hour workweek, and accommodation (a cottage with a large garden, possibly with a pony, and high-speed internet). You may bring your horse but not pets.
Requirements include a driving license and a passion for horses.
