Purpose of Job
The Analyst is a junior financial markets professional who will assist the Portfolio Management EMEA team with data reporting, while building their knowledge of and assisting in the management of the Bank’s local currency market FX, interest rate, and liquidity risks.
Given the strategic importance of local currency financing for EBRD, this role is key in helping the Portfolio Management EMEA team report both internally and externally on local currency activity, as well as supporting the team’s daily operations.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Support the team by developing, improving (where possible automating), and maintaining risk reports from various sources to support daily operations and reporting.
- Produce and maintain a dashboard summarizing the main risks outlined in different reports.
- Produce, improve, maintain, and analyze reports on local currency transactions and banking pipelines, involving cross-checking data between Treasury (Summit) and Banking (DTM) systems and liaising internally with relevant teams.
- Run daily and ad-hoc reports and analyze data as required.
- Assist with day-to-day operations as needed.
- Track relevant developments in the local currency markets.
- Help expand the framework necessary to manage local currency funding and lending books.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to derive insights from qualitative and quantitative data for decision-making.
- Good interpersonal skills to build relationships, gain credibility, and establish trust quickly.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, asking the right questions to understand deeper issues.
- Highly numerical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to work independently, find solutions, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Excellent team player.
- Experience with Excel (including VBA) and system interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with good presentation abilities.
- Knowledge of a second language relevant to EBRD’s Countries of Operation, such as Russian, French, or Arabic, is highly desirable.
