Starr Insurance Companies is a leading insurance and investment organization, providing commercial property and casualty insurance, including travel and accident coverage, to various businesses worldwide.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Underwrite profitable business for all sub lines of Airline Insurance in accordance with business plans.
• Develop broker relationships and optimize opportunities for new business.
• Explore client and company knowledge to identify and optimize cross-selling opportunities.
• Travel globally to service existing and prospective clients.
• Engage with brokers to maintain existing business and follow up on quotations.
• Adhere to Starr underwriting standards as outlined in the Underwriting Manual.
• Obtain sign-off for all business exceeding authority levels or below rating guidelines.
• Ensure accurate, complete, and up-to-date underwriting documentation.
• Verify that policy wordings and clauses are correctly referenced and agreed.
• Ensure all accounts are contractually certain at binding.
• Reconcile and report premiums due versus received to manage credit control.
• Maintain complete files with all relevant documents and obtain outstanding items for peer review.
• Provide technical training to new or less experienced team members.
• Delegate tasks for development and provide support and supervision.

Experience

• Good knowledge of the class of business.
• Familiarity with Lloyd’s and London Market processing for premiums and claims.
• Up-to-date claims knowledge to inform underwriting decisions.
• Understanding of Business Plans.

Qualifications

• Ongoing ACII accreditation.
