As a Financial Accountant, you play a key role in managing and reporting the company's financial data. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, prepare financial statements, and support management with financial performance insights to guide strategic decision-making. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with financial standards, optimizing financial processes, and supporting the achievement of the company’s vision.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial records for UK sites/Line of Business to facilitate management reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts as per local regulations.
  • Assist in budget and forecast preparation by providing relevant information regularly.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual departments.
  • Prepare supporting information for annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP.

Finance Management

  • Handle month-end and year-end accounting activities and book closures.
  • Develop and maintain financial systems for cash management, accounts payable, receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  • Post journal entries, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Participate in developing and implementing internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide tax planning strategies and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and proper record-keeping.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
  • Carry out bank reconciliations.
  • Meet regularly with the Finance Manager to improve processes and turnaround times.
  • Assist in managing the studio P&L, providing relevant financial insights and analysis.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial support and guidance.
  • Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in financial accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, preferably Microsoft D365.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience in project and management accounting.
  • Good communication skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
