About Us:
COMMUN is a combined arts organisation with a focus on community building for emerging and mid-career Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) voices.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records for our charitable entity, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the entity.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying trends and areas for financial efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with relevant charity accountancy standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors during annual audits.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
- Manage any ad-hoc financial analysis or projects related to the charitable entity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in charity accountancy, with a focus on financial management.
- Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of charity accountancy principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Additional Information:
This is a remote position. Regular communication and updates will be required with the charity’s finance team. We anticipate an ongoing working relationship for the foreseeable future.
