The Role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy engineering team, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs to ensure machinery and equipment remain fully operational.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, with a focus on minimising downtime and driving continuous improvements across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Service, repair and maintain CNC lathes, milling machines and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Minimise machine downtime and maximise production efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement and shop floor improvement projects.
  • Assist with general facilities maintenance when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven maintenance experience within a CNC manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability.

* Experience working with

  • Pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Gearboxes, pumps and motors.
  • Three-phase electrical systems.
  • Control panels, fault finding and repairs.
  • Compressors and associated equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Facilities maintenance experience.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

Qualifications

  • Time-served and qualified Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
  • IPAF and Forklift licences are advantageous.
  • IEE Regulations qualification would be beneficial.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazak/Mazatrol or Haas controls would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, automation and control systems would be an advantage.
