We are recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join a well-established logistics business in Derbyshire. This is a hands-on role within a small HR team and would suit someone who is confident managing day-to-day HR issues, supporting managers and taking ownership of employee relations matters from start to finish. The successful candidate will need to be proactive, organised and comfortable working within a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees
- Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance
- Conduct and support investigations and prepare relevant HR documentation
- Coach and guide managers through HR processes and procedures
- Support recruitment, onboarding and probation processes
- Support performance management and development plans
- Maintain accurate HR records and update HR systems
- Prepare contracts, letters, reports and other HR documentation
- Support HR projects, audits and compliance activity
- Occasionally travel to other company sites
About You
We are ideally looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years' practical HR experience within an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar role. You will need:
- Strong hands-on employee relations experience
- Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Confidence advising and challenging managers when required
- Strong organisation and administration skills
- Experience using HR systems
- A full UK driving licence
CIPD Level 3 or above would be desirable but is not essential. Practical HR experience is more important than qualifications alone, so we are particularly keen to speak with candidates who have a strong track record of managing day-to-day HR matters within the workplace. This role would suit someone who can hit the ground running, is confident taking ownership and understands the importance of balancing HR best practice with operational business needs.
