A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a progressive and expanding accountancy practice in Tonbridge. This position would suit a practice professional who enjoys working closely with clients, preparing statutory accounts and tax returns, and supporting the development of junior team members. The successful Accounts Senior will be joining a friendly, collaborative team with genuine opportunities for long-term career progression.
About the role
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting tax computations
- Preparing self-assessment tax returns
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors
- Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT work completed by junior team members
- Preparing management accounts where required
- Liaising directly with clients to provide advice and resolve queries
- Assisting clients with accounting software and cloud accounting systems
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the accounts team
- Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and efficiencies
- Ensuring compliance deadlines are met
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of client work while developing leadership and management skills.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong experience preparing year-end accounts and tax returns
- AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified by experience
- Good technical accounting knowledge
