Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Drafting and transcribing legal paperwork from handwritten materials or digital voice recordings
  • Handling file administration, including creation, closure, and ongoing management
  • Processing incoming and outgoing communications (email, scanning, fax)
  • Scheduling appointments and coordinating diary management for Fee Earners
  • Answering telephone calls, relaying messages, and dealing with initial client queries
  • Offering general support to other departments when needed

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Prior experience as a Legal Secretary is essential (previous probate work is a significant advantage)
  • Proficient with IT systems, particularly Microsoft Word (PowerPoint and Excel knowledge desirable)
  • Confident and clear communicator, both on the phone and in person
  • Strong interest in legal procedures and committed to discretion and confidentiality
  • Self-starter with excellent organisational skills and a collaborative attitude
  • Able to manage workloads efficiently and meet deadlines with ease
