General Ledger Accountant – 6 Month FTC
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Office based/Hybrid potential
9-530pm
Salary: 35kpa
Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term (open to discuss)
We are recruiting for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join a small, friendly finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting and providing additional support across the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Complete balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and fixed asset register.
- Assist with management accounts and financial reporting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and support audit requirements.
- Provide cover across Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger.
- Support process improvements and ad hoc finance activities.
About You
- Previous experience in a General Ledger or similar accounting role.
- Strong month-end and reconciliation experience.
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience across Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Excellent attention to detail and a flexible, hands-on approach.
- AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualified/part-qualified desirable but not essential.
