A growing, friendly, accountancy and business advisory firm near Maidstone is hiring a Trainee Accountant to support a varied, high-quality portfolio. This is an office-based role with study support available and the chance to build a long-term career within a business that genuinely invests in development.

About the role:

The Trainee Accountant will support a diverse client base including owner-managed businesses and High Net Worth Individuals. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Bookkeeping support across a client portfolio
  • Monitoring preparation and filing of VAT returns
  • Preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and statutory accounts (plus supporting tax computations)
  • Preparing personal and corporate tax returns
  • Supporting payroll tasks from time to time
  • Companies House compliance, including Annual Confirmation Statements

The role offers clearly defined objectives, varied work and the freedom to plan workload effectively, with regular feedback in a collaborative environment. This role will suit someone who is serious about building an accountancy career and wants breadth of exposure early on.

  • AAT Qualified or studying towards ACA/ACCA
