We are seeking an Index Research Strategist to lead the strategy, creation and delivery of all research content relating to VettaFi indices in Europe, from deep-dive index analysis and thought leadership to quick-fire relevant macro updates, index performance commentaries, and index client focused articles. This role is the engine room of index research in Europe.

The role sits within the index product team and will work closely with content team members to manage and deliver index client content in a timely manner, collaborate with editorial to generate relevant content ideas and partner with the index marketing and sales teams on how to support the ‘build’ with the ‘grow’ component of VettaFi’s value proposition. You will oversee the index research process, from planning and creation to distribution and performance review, with a clear focus on delivering sharp and timely insights in collaboration with index clients and elevating the authority of the VettaFi brand in Europe.

Primary Function

Content Strategy and Leadership

  • Lead the planning, creation and delivery of all index research content formats, including tactical articles and longer-form thought leadership to support the needs of client and sales colleagues.
  • Shape and evolve VettaFi’s index research for both UK and DACH regions, focused on asset managers and professional ETF buyers, and in time, retail audiences.
  • Ensure all content meets the highest editorial standards while supporting commercial objectives.
  • Find opportunities to showcase VettaFi index thought leadership across internal and external channels including earned media opportunities with podcasts, video and events.

Key requirements

  • Demonstrable interest in and understanding financial markets, the ETF industry, macroeconomic events and market trends.
  • Experience in the asset management industry, with a preference for exposure to ETFs, index mutual funds or other relevant areas.
  • A strong desire and ability to work in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
  • Strong client communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts or provide deeper, more technical explanations as required.
  • A proactive, problem‑solving mindset, with the ability to effectively synthesise outputs from multiple technology platforms and systems.
  • Deep understanding of indices and experience with an index provider.
  • Comfortable with a public‑facing presence, including on‑camera content and speaking before audiences of various sizes.

Advantageous attributes

  • Familiarity with coding languages and programmes including SQL, Python, Java.
  • Native level speaker in German, Dutch, Italian, French or Spanish a plus.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite, in particular Excel and Word.
  • Comfortable presenting and networking with investors and industry professionals at events.
