The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
This is a maternity cover contract for 12 months. Reporting to the Head of Search & Content, the SEO Manager will be a key part of a successful team to help improve organic performance across our clients. You will build and implement SEO strategies for clients and work closely with the wider team to cover all aspects of SEO.
The SEO Manager will lead on the SEO strategy for their own client accounts and have responsibility for their results. An excellent knowledge of all aspects of SEO is needed to plan and implement effective organic strategies for clients where you will be the day to day lead and first point of contact on SEO.
This role will need an individual with strong leadership and communication qualities alongside great problem solving abilities. The SEO Manager will report into the Head of Search & Content and will line manage executives within the SEO team, supporting their development.
Behaviours & Skills:- At least 4 years + experience within SEO roles
- Experience in planning and implementing SEO & link acquisition strategies
- Strong understanding in all aspects of SEO
- Possess the ability to make SEO recommendations bespoke to a clients or industries specific needs.
- Understanding of wider marketing channels and the role SEO can play to help support those channels and wider marketing efforts
- Confident in account management and building client relationships
- Great leadership and management skills to drive client accounts forward and line manage executives within the business
- Possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to leverage data, analytics and consumer behaviour trends in order to drive actionable insights and recommendations
- Strong presentation skills to confidently discuss and deliver workflow to clients and internally within the business
- Proficient in a variety of tools including: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Sitebulb and more
- Creation and implementation of SEO & link acquisition strategies to improve website visibility and rankings
- Manage day to day activity of key SEO workstreams, with delegation to supporting team and feedback on their work
- In-depth website and technical SEO audits, finding opportunities to improve and building roadmaps to fix SEO issues
- Carrying out SERP analysis, keyword research and reviewing website templates
- Supporting the wider team with new business requests, analysing potential client websites and strategies to create a SEO strategy with hits KPIs.
- Briefing the content team on optimisations and ensuring their work supports the SEO strategy
- Supporting clients with website migrations, relaunches and testing major changes to ensure they meet SEO best practice
- Proactively providing input on opportunities to improve clients’ websites
- The SEO Manager role will take on client management including direct client contact and presentations, being the SEO point of contact on accounts, with support from the Client Servicing team
- Line management of the SEO team members, including annual personal development plans, monthly 121s, driving their development and training and supporting them in their independent work.
- Data and reporting
- Presenting strategies and workflow to clients in a confident and knowledgeable manner
- Reviewing regular weekly and monthly reporting from the team on SEO performance, pulling out insights on changes and new opportunities
- PCAs and regular business reviews with senior client stakeholders to report on SEO strategy progress, insights and next steps
- Opportunity to develop thought-leadership pieces on SEO and changes within search
- Responsible for training the wider SEO team across SEO specialisms and tools
- Responsible for line managing assigned executives within the business, supporting them with workloads, deadlines and feedback
- This includes working with executives through the PDP process to drive their progress within the business, including supporting their development with briefing and delegation of work that aligns to their goals
- Devising and encouraging successful campaigns to be entered into and winning industry relevant awards, and providing details of great results for internal and external comms
- Providing training and thought leadership to the wider agency to increase knowledge and understanding of SEO and the team’s work
