They offer a complete range of products including Skincare, Haircare, Bath & Body, Fine Fragrance and Home Fragrance. Turnover is growing rapidly and is approaching £40M and covers the UK, North America, Europe, and Australasian markets. The company has ambitious plans and a strategy to match to deliver fast long-term growth. At the core of the organisation is the production facility that manufactures over 15 million units from a 120k sq ft site in East Anglia.

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Manager to lead and maintain quality standards across its FMCG manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will oversee quality assurance systems, ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and champion a culture of excellence throughout the production process. This role is pivotal in safeguarding product integrity and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality management system in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, BRC, IFS).
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements including safety, hygiene, and legal standards.
  • Lead internal and external audits; manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, R&D, procurement, logistics) to ensure product quality throughout the supply chain.
  • Analyse quality data and KPIs to identify trends, non-conformities, and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee quality control processes, including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and finished goods testing.
  • Manage a team of 3 quality technicians, providing training, leadership, and performance development.
  • Interface with customers on quality-related concerns and lead investigations and resolutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen methodologies.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting in line with HACCP, GMP, and relevant industry standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Ideally Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality management experience within the FMCG or food & beverage industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, GMP, and relevant ISO certifications.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and quality management software (e.g., SAP, Q-Pulse).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001 / BRC / IFS).
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and environmental compliance in FMCG.

Work Environment: This position operates in a manufacturing environment with regular interaction with the production floor, quality lab, and occasional travel to supplier or customer sites.
