We are a fast-growing renewable energy construction company delivering large-scale power and infrastructure projects across the UK. We’re committed to accelerating the transition to clean energy and are seeking an experienced Tendering Manager to lead the development of high-quality tenders from our Washington-based Head Office.
Role Overview
As the Tendering Manager, you will own the full tendering lifecycle, from initial opportunity assessment through to final submission. You will work collaboratively with commercial, engineering, procurement, planning, and project delivery teams to ensure tenders are competitive, compliant, and technically robust. This is a key role within the organisation, requiring strong communication skills and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end tender preparation for power construction and renewable energy projects.
- Review tender documentation, identify key requirements, and coordinate internal stakeholders.
- Develop tender strategies and produce compelling commercial, technical, and contractual submissions.
- Work with engineers, planners, and estimators to compile accurate scope, methodology, and costing information.
- Manage tender programmes and ensure all submissions are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Maintain a tender pipeline and support bid/no-bid decisions.
- Conduct risk assessments, clarifications, and tender review meetings.
- Support negotiations and handover activities post-award.
- Continuously improve tendering processes, templates, and best practice.
Must-Have Experience
- Tendering and bid management within the power construction, utilities, or renewable energy sectors.
- Leading end-to-end tender submissions for HV/LV infrastructure, substations, grid connections, solar, wind, or battery storage projects.
- Working with DNOs/IDNOs, National Grid, EPC contractors, or major utility providers.
- Producing high-quality technical and commercial bid documentation.
- Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, commercial, procurement, and planning.
- Interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements (NEC, JCT or similar).
- Managing multiple tenders simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Using MS Office, SharePoint, bid portals, or tender management platforms.
