We are expanding our team at TMS Grid and are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex programmes across the UK. This is a senior-level opportunity within a fast-growing business where you will take end-to-end ownership of assigned projects within a wider portfolio of active and design-stage schemes, supporting the UK's energy transition through high-quality infrastructure delivery.
We are specifically recruiting across the following workstreams:
- 1 x Solar EPC Project Manager
- 1 x BESS EPC Project Manager
- 6 x ICP / Grid Project Managers
Working Model:
- Hybrid role combining site-based work across UK project locations
- Office-based work at HQ in Washington, UK
- Home-based work for planning, reporting, and coordination
- Regular travel to project sites and client meetings will be required
Project Scope:
- Working within a live portfolio of 15+ active and design-stage projects
- Managing a defined allocation of projects within a wider programme of work
- Project values ranging from £500,000 to £15 million
- Delivery across HV/LV electrical infrastructure and solar/grid connection schemes
- Full lifecycle responsibility from design coordination through to commissioning and handover
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of assigned HV/LV, Solar & BESS infrastructure projects
- Develop and manage detailed project programmes across multiple concurrent schemes alongside in-house planner
- Oversee pre-mobilisation, installation, testing, commissioning, energisation and handover
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including civil, electrical, and commissioning stakeholders
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal resources effectively
- Act as the primary client and stakeholder interface for your projects
- Lead project meetings, progress reporting, and delivery reviews
- Monitor programme performance, budgets, risks, and commercial outcomes
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and handover packs are maintained
- Drive compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement across project delivery processes
Technical & Commercial Responsibility:
- Lead engagement with DNOs and grid stakeholders (e.g. Northern Powergrid)
- Support grid connection processes, approvals, and energisation coordination
- Take ownership of project budgets, forecasting, and cost control
- Manage variations, change control, and commercial risk
- Ensure delivery aligns with contractual, programme, and commercial objectives
What We're Looking For:
- 3–5+ years' experience in electrical project management within HV/LV environments
- Proven experience delivering ICP/EPC infrastructure projects
- Strong background in managing multiple concurrent projects within a portfolio environment
- Experience working on projects valued at up to £15M
- Safety and compliance focused on CDM, ISO Standards
- Solid understanding and technically competent in HV/LV systems, commissioning, and grid connections
- Experience in solar PV, BESS and other renewable energy infrastructure delivery
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, able to manage multiple projects confidently
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, contracts, variations and project performance
- Operationally effective and confident utilising tools, processes and reporting
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment
Desirable Experience:
- HV authorisations / SAP-level experience
- Familiarity with DNO processes and grid compliance requirements
- Knowledge with SimPro and SafetyCulture/iAuditor
- Experience working alongside major industry organisations
