About The Role

The Procurement Manager (Electrical & Supply Chain) will be responsible for managing and developing procurement activities across the business, ensuring materials, equipment and services are sourced efficiently, competitively and in line with project requirements. Working closely with project managers, commercial teams and operational colleagues, you will ensure procurement strategies support project delivery, minimise supply chain risks and build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.

The successful candidate will be commercially focused, highly organised and experienced in electrical procurement, with a strong understanding of supply chain management within the power, utilities, construction or renewable energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for power, grid and renewable energy projects.
  • Manage supplier contractor PQQ information to ensure they meet all requirements, ensuring certificates, training qualifications, insurances etc are all up to date and recorded.
  • Source and procure electrical equipment, materials, plant and subcontract services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and supply chain partners.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, supplier agreements and framework arrangements.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with project programmes, budgets and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, quality and delivery commitments.
  • Identify and manage supply chain risks, including long-lead equipment and critical materials.
  • Work closely with project teams to forecast procurement requirements and plan ahead.
  • Support project delivery by ensuring availability of required electrical equipment and materials.
  • Review supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting and supplier information.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of procurement processes and systems.
  • Provide procurement support for tender submissions, including supplier engagement and obtaining quotations.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, commercial requirements and quality standards.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience within a Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer or similar procurement role.
  • Strong electrical procurement experience, ideally within the power, utilities, electrical contracting, renewable energy or construction sectors.
  • Good understanding of electrical equipment, materials and associated supply chains.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, commercial teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify value opportunities and manage supply chain risks.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within ICP, IDNO, DNO, HV/LV infrastructure, solar, battery storage or renewable energy projects.
  • Knowledge of HV electrical equipment, including associated procurement requirements.
  • Experience managing long-lead equipment procurement.
  • Experience developing procurement strategies, supplier frameworks and processes.
  • CIPS qualification or working towards professional procurement accreditation.
  • Experience working within a fast-growing SME environment.
