We are delighted to be working with a well-established, SME business within the construction industry to appoint a hands-on Finance Director. This is a critical senior leadership role, offering full ownership of the finance function within a contracts-led business undergoing a key phase of growth. The successful individual will be playing a key role in driving performance, control and commercial decision-making.

What will you do as a Finance Director?
- Leading the finance function and contributing as a key member of the senior leadership team
- Owning budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling across a multi-project contracting environment
- Providing detailed insight into job costing, WIP, margins and contract performance
- Driving strong cash flow management, including debtor control and project-level cash forecasting
- Overseeing statutory accounts, audit, tax and compliance
- Developing financial controls, processes and systems fit for an SME within a growing group
- Managing and developing a small finance team, remaining hands-on where required
What do you need as a Finance Director?
- This role will suit a commercial finance leader with experience in:
- Construction, contracting, engineering environment
- SME businesses where finance is close to operations
- Managing cash flow across multiple live projects with varying payment profiles
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Comfortable operating at board level while staying close to the detail
