The Receptionist / Administrative Assistant provides a welcoming and professional front-of-house service for the college while supporting the effective day-to-day administration of the organisation. The role acts as a key point of contact for learners, staff, families and external professionals. All interactions are handled with patience and professionalism.
- The Receptionist acts as the first point of contact for visitors, learners and staff.
- Manages incoming calls, emails and general enquiries efficiently and professionally.
- Maintains a secure reception area, including overseeing visitor sign-in procedures.
- Provides clear information to learners, parents/carers and external agencies.
- Carries out general administrative including filing, copying, data entry and document management.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date learner records in line with data protection requirements.
- Organises and schedules meetings, appointments and college events.
- Prepares reports, letters, and official documentation as required.
- Interacts positively with learners, promoting a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Assists staff with administrative aspects of learner support plans and records.
- Responds calmly and appropriately to situations involving vulnerable learners.
- Manages and orders office supplies as needed.
- Supports attendance monitoring and reporting processes.
- Liaises effectively with staff and external professionals.
- Engages in regular CPD to develop knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested.
