Our client, based in London, is a leading collectable subscription business and international publisher, operating in over 30 markets across Europe, Asia, North and Latin America. They specialise in mass market and licensed collectables from global brands such as Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros, CBS, HBO and many more. Their teams operate over 100 properties globally with new products being launched in retail and subscription all the time. Their Direct to Consumer business is always growing around the world, while their collectables are also available in many newsagents, supermarkets and comic shops.
The Position
As Marketing Executive, you will be a key player of the growing Direct Marketing Team in London and in charge of North European markets (UK and cascades including Australia, Germany, etc). You will be responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of specific marketing plans designed to acquire and retain new subscribers for multiple subscription programs, while ensuring planned ROI levels and delivering optimal customer service.
The main areas of responsibility for this job are:
- Design and execute omni-channel digital marketing campaigns with the objective of acquiring and retaining new subscribers, while reaching planned profitability targets (ROI, LTV, Contribution Margin, etc.).
- Define the acquisition strategies for offline channels (DRTV, print, inserts, etc.) and work closely with the Digital Marketing team on the online media (search, paid social, mobile, display, email, affiliate, podcasts, etc.).
- Scope A/B tests for campaigns, upsell assets, landing pages and funnel flows, and work with team members to implement these tests across regional channels to improve subscription conversion.
- Leverage internal CRM resources to leverage existing subscribers database and to maximize retention of acquired subscribers (LTV).
- Learning and understanding the market and competitor landscape to protect and develop the publications.
- Build, maintain and update a quarterly and yearly subscription marketing calendar.
- Adapt or develop projects in coordination with development teams.
- Develop international approach to release products in many countries simultaneously or in cascades, depending on the strategy.
- Oversee the relationship with suppliers: media agencies, TV channels, licensors, fulfilment teams, etc.
- Create and manage Subscription P&L of collections.
- Provide analytical assessment of sales results and suggest ways to improve.
The Candidate
We are looking for a highly motivated, data driven marketer with a proven track record of designing and executing effective, omni-channel, marketing campaigns in a fast-paced Ecommerce or Subscription environment. Background and experience will include:
- Minimum of 2 or 3 years of experience in Subscription or eCommerce marketing, preferably in a subscription-based company with a proven track record of success in acquiring and retaining subscribers profitably.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in marketing, with experience in multichannel campaigns.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite, extremely numerate.
- Matured experience in an environment with strong focus on delivering profitability key KPI such as ROI, Contribution, LTV, etc.
- Experience in CRM practices and principles.
- Strong campaign and project management skillset.
- Good awareness of subscription industry, supply chain and agencies with experience of negotiating suppliers for the provision of services.
Personal qualities will include:
- Strong analytical skill with sharp data driven thinking and ability to turn quantitative and qualitative insights into marketing actions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter able to drive forward initiatives to achieve objectives and present back their achievements in a succinct manner.
- Educated to degree level in marketing.
- Confident and team player, and fun to work with.
- Foreign language advantageous (German in particular).
- Passion/Knowledge in comics, science fiction, and pop culture a plus.
