CCNA Accredited Network Engineer role supporting enterprise customers across switching, wireless, telephony, network edge, and cybersecurity technologies. Working within a close knit, employee owned business, you’ll deliver high quality service, troubleshoot complex network issues, and develop your skills through funded training and certification toward senior level progression. This role sits within a collaborative IT and Communications Team, delivering reliable and high quality network services across multiple technologies. You’ll support, troubleshoot, and improve customer network environments while developing your technical expertise through structured training and industry recognised certifications, with a clear pathway toward Senior Network Engineer level.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Network Delivery & Support: Supporting, configuring, and maintaining network environments covering switching, wireless, telephony, network edge, and connectivity services. Working with Cisco and Meraki technologies across wired and wireless infrastructures. Troubleshooting and diagnosing network faults using monitoring, management, and diagnostic tools. Owning incidents through to resolution, ensuring service levels and internal processes are followed.
- Security, Connectivity & Infrastructure: Supporting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, SD WAN, SIP, VPNs. Assisting with secure connectivity solutions, both internal and external. Working with network security technologies including IPS, AMP, and encryption mechanisms. Contributing to cyber security best practice across supported environments.
- Projects, Documentation & Improvement: Supporting project delivery, producing clear technical documentation and handover for ongoing support. Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistent and high quality outcomes. Participating in an on call rota. Contributing ideas and initiatives that drive continual service improvement.
- Training & Development: Attaining and maintaining industry recognised certifications as part of a structured development pathway. Actively developing skills and knowledge across networking and communications technologies.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Highly organised with a structured, methodical approach to work.
- Strong communication skills, including professional telephone manner.
- Hands on experience with Cisco and Meraki networking technologies.
- Solid understanding of core networking protocols and connectivity methods.
- Familiarity with network security concepts and technologies.
- Minimum Cisco CCNA accreditation (or equivalent). Meraki certification advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
