Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary property practice with a national footprint. 300+ staff group-wide, operating from 35+ offices, and generating revenue in the region of £25m. The firm has been investing heavily in its London presence and is now entering an exciting new growth phase, targeting the best valuation talent in the market.
The firm sits on all major lender and institutional valuation panels and carries significant PI cover, giving a new hire the platform and credibility to hit the ground running with top-tier instructions from day one. With an office in the heart of the West End, you will be responsible for driving valuation with a strategic lens, looking to grow a team. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a growth mindset who wants to join a major brand, but be the number one.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
This is a rare build-and-lead opportunity: the chance to establish and grow the firm's Commercial Valuation division in London, with a clear path to scaling this nationally thereafter. Whilst this is a commercial valuation role, there is a chance to still work on residential valuation if you have this skill set, preferred but not essential.
- Take ownership of the Commercial Valuation offering in London, working alongside an existing team of 4, but growing the team.
- Leverage the firm's presence on all major panels. The platform and instructions are already there; this role is about connecting the dots, getting out into the market, and converting relationships into fee income.
- Work closely with the Head of Office, leading London's growth, who focuses on high-end residential and development, ensuring a joined-up, cross-service approach to the London market.
- Collaborate with the firm's Head of Retail Agency, who is building out that service line in parallel. A genuine opportunity to shape a multi-disciplinary London offering from the ground up.
- Build, mentor and expand the valuation team as instruction volumes grow.
- Longer term, take on responsibility for growing valuation capability into other UK regions.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?
- MRICS / RICS Registered Valuer, with a strong track record in commercial valuation (loan security, secured lending, corporate/RICS Red Book, rating or portfolio valuation experience all relevant).
- Existing network and credibility in the London commercial property market. This is a relationship-driven, business-development-led role.
- Proven experience building or scaling a team or division, or clear evidence of the ambition and capability to do so.
- Comfortable operating with autonomy, a genuine "build it" mandate rather than a maintained book of business.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset, given the multi-disciplinary growth taking place around this role.
WHY JOIN
- A genuinely blank canvas. Build and shape a London valuation division from a strong, panel-approved starting point, not from scratch.
- Fast-track route to equity partnership, with real scope to take on wider regional leadership as the division grows.
- Strong salary and excellent bonus potential. Structure is open to discussion, with options spanning discretionary (pool-based) or commission-style arrangements, tailored to the right candidate.
- Brand-new West End office, opening September, as part of a wider investment in the London platform.
- Backed by a substantial, well-capitalised national practice, significant PI cover and panel access most independents can only aspire to.
- Join at a genuinely pivotal moment, alongside other senior lateral hires building out the London business in parallel.
