Central London - £80,000 + Bonus - 4 Days in the Office
tml Partners are partnering with a highly successful, entrepreneurial international organisation to appoint a Head of Performance Marketing within its established in-house marketing agency.
Operating across multiple brands and international markets, our client is growing rapidly and has a commercially focused culture where decisions are made quickly and people are encouraged to take ownership.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who has built their career in performance marketing and progressed into managing people without losing their technical expertise. You will lead paid acquisition across a complex portfolio of advertising accounts, develop a team of four and work closely with senior stakeholders to improve marketing effectiveness.
We are looking for deep Google Ads and Meta expertise, strong commercial judgement and the confidence to move between campaign detail and senior‑level conversations.
The Opportunity
- Lead paid acquisition across multiple brands and international markets, with a particular focus on Google Ads, Meta and generating high‑quality enquiries.
- Remain close to campaign execution, reviewing account structures, targeting, automated bidding and optimisation to identify practical opportunities to improve results.
- Oversee media investment across a large number of individual advertising accounts, balancing local priorities and ensuring budgets are used effectively.
- Improve lead generation performance and cost per lead, diagnosing changes in results and recommending clear actions that support wider commercial growth.
- Use AI‑powered bidding, Performance Max, automation and structured testing to improve acquisition effectiveness and explore new channels.
- Work closely with analytics and digital specialists to ensure GA4, Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking provide reliable information for campaign decisions.
- Lead, coach and develop four performance marketing team members, building confidence, encouraging collaboration and creating a more proactive approach to growth.
- Coordinate with regional digital marketing colleagues and work effectively with CRM, digital product, creative and admissions‑related teams.
- Build trusted relationships with senior marketing and commercial stakeholders, explaining performance clearly, challenging assumptions and agreeing next steps.
What We're Looking For
- Hands‑on performance marketing expertise: A strong career foundation in paid media, with direct experience managing and optimising Google Ads and Meta campaigns. You will still be confident getting into the detail of accounts and bidding strategies.
- AI and marketing technology: Practical experience of automated bidding and campaign optimisation, including tools such as Google Ads Smart Bidding and Performance Max. A sound understanding of GA4, Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking is important; you do not need to implement every tag yourself.
- Commercial and analytical capability: A track record of improving lead generation, acquisition efficiency and cost per lead, with the judgement to explain what is driving performance and what should happen next.
- Multi‑brand or agency experience: Comfortable managing numerous accounts, budgets and stakeholders. Experience in a performance marketing agency, in‑house agency or complex multi‑brand business would be particularly relevant.
- People leadership: Proven experience directly managing and developing performance marketing specialists. You will know how to coach, delegate and empower a team while maintaining high standards.
- Senior stakeholder management: Able to translate technical results into clear commercial recommendations and constructively challenge priorities when required.
- Lead generation: Experience of enquiry‑led acquisition or longer‑consideration customer journeys would be advantageous.
- Entrepreneurial approach: Proactive, decisive and comfortable working at pace, balancing immediate demands with testing, innovation and longer‑term improvement.
- Our client would be particularly interested in candidates from consumer services, luxury, travel, hospitality, leisure, financial services or performance marketing agencies, although they are open to individuals from any sector who can demonstrate strong expertise in paid media, lead generation and customer acquisition.
The Working Environment
Our client operates in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial and commercially driven environment. The work is varied, with different brands, markets and stakeholders requiring different approaches.
There is considerable scope to make an impact, but also an expectation that decisions are made quickly and recommendations turn into action.
This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys being close to campaign performance, developing talented people and bringing fresh ideas to an established function. The successful candidate will be collaborative and confident, with the ability to bring structure and forward thinking to a busy operation.
