What you’ll do
- Lead and supervise construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop project plans and schedules that meet client expectations.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Manage subcontractors and labor teams, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, fostering a culture of safety among all team members.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including reports, schedules, and budgets, to track progress and communicate with stakeholders.
- Resolve conflicts and challenges that arise during the construction process, utilizing strong problem‑solving skills to find effective solutions.
- Train and mentor junior staff and field personnel, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on project status, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with the work being performed.
- Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Conduct post‑project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned in future projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar applications.
- Ability to travel frequently and adapt to various job sites and working conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
Nice to have
- Experience with green building practices and sustainable construction methods.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced construction technologies.
- Certification from a recognized professional organization, such as the Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
- Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, can be an asset in diverse work environments.
