The Senior HR Advisor reports into the Market HR Director to work as part of a team to deliver day-to-day HR support to circa 300 employees across 3 offices in UK & Ireland (London, Brighton, and Dublin). This role will be based in London and the job holder will be a primary contact for the UK and Ireland business. The HR team operates across both jurisdictions, and so the job holder should be willing and able to work remotely to pick up and support queries from both jurisdictions. The individual will be expected to assist the Market HR Director to implement and deliver Group HR projects in the local market. The job holder will also be required to work closely with colleagues in Specialist Centres of Expertise to draw on resources and knowledge in Talent Acquisition, Reward, Engagement, Business Academy and HRIS. The job holder will have two reportees and be assisted by colleagues in our Resource Development Centre to assist with certain tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder and Leadership Support: Act as a trusted HR business partner to the UK and Ireland senior leadership teams; Support organisational change initiatives; Escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner; Collating, and interpreting statistics and drawing logical and evidenced backed conclusions, together with a proposed action plan (where appropriate) to provide insight to the local leadership teams; Focus on risk management within the people agenda and deliver accurate and high-quality MI as required; Supporting managers in handling disciplinary, grievances, capability procedures, performance improvement plans and absence management; Maintain up to date knowledge of UK and Ireland legislation and ensure we are compliant in the advice given; Lead on the annual UK and Ireland people budget process as well as annual pay review process.
  • Driving the Talent and Engagement agenda: Support the delivery of the people agenda with clear KPIs; Drive engagement forward and action planning from employee surveys; Identify and develop talent to ensure we retain and develop our top employees; Drive employee development to assist with internal promotions; Taking ownership of certain Group HR projects to lead on the implementation and delivery in market; Drive forward the diversity and inclusion agenda for the UK&I market, working closely and aligned to Group HR Operations, Policy, Process & Continuous Improvement.
  • Oversee all elements of the HR life cycle from onboarding through to exit; Support HR audits as required; Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experiences; Work with Group HR colleagues to provide local support as required; Supporting and sign off on key HR documents in the life cycle; Embracing new technology to drive the AI agenda forward; Assisting with and taking responsibility for running payroll, as required on a cover basis, to ensure all employees are paid on time; Line management responsibilities to the HR Administrators who ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day HR processes; Responding to complex HR queries in line with local legislation, HR best practice and TMF UKI policies and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Human Resources or Business is preferred; however, this is not essential where equivalent, relevant experience has been obtained.
  • The successful candidate is expected to have approximately five years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Experience working in a complex international business with matrix reporting lines is a must have.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders to support delivery of their goals and objectives, providing practical solutions and insight as a trusted and valued HR Advisor.
  • A good understanding of local employment legislation in UK and Ireland and an up-to-date knowledge of HR best practice.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • A confident communicator and experienced in managing multiple stakeholders with competing deadlines and priorities.
