Based in London, you will support the Head of Private Wealth & Family Office in managing a portfolio of trust and charity clients. As part of a small, experienced team, you will handle a varied client base, including trusts and charities. Your main responsibilities will include preparing trust tax returns and accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role offers opportunities for career growth in a flexible, collaborative environment. We offer a hybrid working model with two days in-office and three days remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end accounts and supporting schedules for trusts and charities
- Preparing trust tax returns and charity returns
- Reviewing and updating charity policies annually
- Keeping up-to-date with The Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)
- Preparing inheritance tax returns, claims, and elections for trusts
- Preparing ATED returns
- Attending trustee meetings and preparing minutes
- Reviewing work of trainees
- Liaising with HMRC on enquiries
- Working with clients, trustees, and advisors to ensure seamless service
- Building strong relationships with clients and the wider TMF network
- Monitoring client profitability and assisting with debt collection
- Enhancing existing processes and supporting business development
- Staying updated on UK tax changes
Key Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship building
- Strong communication skills, confident in engaging with senior stakeholders
- Experience in private client services, preferably trusts
- Proactive work ethic and task management skills
- High attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for growth and development
- CTA or ACA qualification, or equivalent experience with at least 3 years in a client-facing environment
- Membership of STEP is beneficial
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard in-house packages
- Minimum 3 A-levels and 5 GCSEs (A-C), including English and Maths
