An opportunity for an enthusiastic Learning and Behaviour Mentor to join the team at Castle Mead Academy, as part of The Mead Educational Trust.

Castle Mead Academy, a non-selective secondary school, opened its doors in August 2019 and has grown to over 1200 scholars. We aim to provide a standard of education that matches the very best schools in the country, ensuring every scholar leaves with high value academic qualifications and positive dispositions for fulfilling lives.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a school where:

  • There is a pristinely calm orderly environment with rigorous routines so teachers can teach and scholars can learn.
  • We champion old-fashioned values, including manners, and want our scholars to grow as individuals.
  • We distribute leadership, consistently consider staff workload, and strive for continuous improvement.
  • We moved into a new £37m building on the picturesque riverside in August 2021.

We are recruiting our next Learning and Behaviour Mentor. If you are ambitious, persistent, and open-minded, with a genuine passion for learning and young people, we want to hear from you. This role involves:

  • Supporting our scholars and upholding the ethos, expectations, and standards of the academy.
  • Working as part of our Pastoral Care Team.
  • Learning from the expertise of colleagues.

We seek someone with a genuine moral purpose and belief that everyone is capable of excellence. Join us to bring a no excuses approach, ensuring every child receives the best offer they deserve.

Please submit your application by Tuesday 30th June 2026. For further information or to book a visit to Castle Mead Academy, please contact Kirsty Gunn, Office Manager.

Castle Mead Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post will involve contact with vulnerable groups and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check.
