About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and skilled Specialist Speech, Language and Communication Therapist to join our dedicated and forward-thinking Central team, part of The Mead Educational Trust (TMET). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a culture of excellence, ambition and inclusion within our school community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to securing the best possible outcomes for all learners and will play an active role in promoting a safe, supportive and positive learning environment. The role will involve providing high-quality specialist input in speech, language and communication across the school, with a focus on early identification of needs, accurate assessment, effective intervention and the delivery of high-impact staff development to support inclusive practice.

  • Experience of working collaboratively with teachers, SEND teams, families and external professionals to support children with additional needs
  • Confidence in supporting and developing staff practice, including delivering CPD, coaching or modelling effective strategies
  • A clear understanding of inclusive practice, SEND legislation and graduated approaches to support, including EHCP processes
  • Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and contribute to professional documentation
  • A proactive, reflective and solution-focused approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and to securing the best outcomes for all learners
