Brook Mead Academy is the newest school in The Mead Educational Trust (TMET), which is a family of fifteen primary and secondary schools all based in Leicester and Leicestershire. Together, we seek to make a positive difference to the lives of the children attending our schools. Our flagship secondary school, Rushey Mead Academy, has consistently placed in the top 5% of schools nationally for progress and attainment.

We believe that knowledge is power and access to powerful knowledge is the right of every child. We are looking for an Academic Mentor who will join our friendly team to support scholars to make good progress in English, whether they are new to English or need support with reading or in developing skills around taking examinations.

Salary: LG Band 4
Hours of work: Your paid hours of work will be 36.5 hours per week for 38.6 weeks of the year, 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am to 2:30pm on Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day. On alternate Fridays when we hold our professional learning, your hours of work will be 8:00am to 3:30pm.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found.
