Provide expert advice on biodiversity, habitat management, and legislative compliance. Liaise with clients, local authorities, and statutory consultees. Mentor and support junior ecologists, contributing to their professional development. Stay current with ecological best practice, legislation, and industry guidance. Attend site visits and stakeholder meetings.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Ecologist
- Strong knowledge of UK ecology, protected species, habitat types, and relevant legislation (e.g., Wildlife & Countryside Act, Habitats Regulations)
- Experience in producing ecological reports independently
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., BSc/MSc Ecology or related discipline)
- Membership of professional bodies such as CIEEM is preferred
- Valid UK driving license
- Strong project management and report-writing skills
