Reduced Listening, an award‑winning independent production company, is launching a new weekly entertainment video podcast on a major broadcast platform and seeks a culturally‑aware creative Producer.
Key Responsibilities
- Host Collaboration – Work closely with hosts to curate, debate, and select essential weekly pop‑culture and online trending talking points.
- Trend Forecasting – Monitor social media and podcast landscapes to keep the show ahead of the curve.
- Research & Prep – Produce concise, high‑impact topic packs and briefing notes to prepare hosts for recording sessions.
- Creative Input – Contribute ideas for format tweaks, special segments, and audience engagement strategies.
- Talent Management & Directing – Liaise with the Executive Producer as a trusted host contact; direct hosts in‑studio to achieve optimal energy, pacing, and comedic timing.
- Client Management – Run day‑to‑day communication with the client/commissioner.
- Post‑Production & Technical Execution – Ingest studio material and craft long‑form sequences; deliver first cut of multi‑cam video edits using Adobe Premiere Pro and support Digital Producer with social‑media clip editing.
- Quality Assurance – Ensure all outputs meet broadcast‑ready standards for full‑length episodes and social‑media clips.
Essential Criteria
- Encyclopaedic knowledge of internet culture, celebrity news, TV/Film, music, and broader cultural conversations.
- Proven experience shaping content, scripting, or producing for entertainment media.
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition.
- Demonstrable industry and talent‑management experience.
- Understanding of BBC Editorial Policy and guidelines.
Beneficial Skills
- Experience working on BBC content.
- Familiarity with Frame‑IO, After Effects, and other digital workflow tools.
- Data analysis skills to translate insights into action.
- Strong writing for social copy and metadata.
- Understanding of audience behaviour, trends, and digital storytelling.
- Technical knowledge of media management and troubleshooting.
Working Pattern & Salary
The role is 3–4 days a week, spread regularly during the week, in a London‑based in‑person setting with studio access in central London and office in Dalston. Salary is £36,000–£41,000 prorata, depending on experience.
