BFI Film Academy is a free, UK-wide programme that supports young people aged 16 to 25 to develop skills, gain industry experience and pursue careers in the screen industries.
Engagement Coordinator
You will support participants from underrepresented and underserved communities across a range of Academy programmes, helping them access training, mentoring, industry opportunities and pathways into employment.
You will also support the placement of emerging talent onto industry opportunities, contributing to the growth of a diverse and skilled future workforce within the screen sector.
Key responsibilities
- To lead on the recruitment of Film Academy participants to the programme engaging with young people from underrepresented and underserved communities, working with external organisations to support NEET and hard to reach young people to take part through face to face interaction and phone calls
- To develop and maintain a CRM database of programme alumni, ensuring records are kept up to date and GDPR compliant.
- Build strong relationships with alumni, track their progress through the programme strands and support they to navigate the film academy programme , access financial support, further training and help them to relocate for opportunities as needed.
- To support the Head of Film Academy programmes in the day to day running of the Film Academy Youth Engagement and Professional Development Strands, and the Programme Manager in the running of Film Academy Hubs and Training courses.
- Alongside the Head of Film Academy programmes, develop strong relationships with industry stakeholders creating opportunities for participants in the Film Academy programme
Requirements
- Prior experience in project coordination/management
- Proven experience supporting young people aged 16 to 25 years old to develop skills and knowledge relevant to career development, including in the creative industries
- Proven experience of working with young people from underrepresented groups and underserved communities
- Experience of using and maintaining a range of databases, spreadsheets and record management systems.
