This is an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Manager to take a leading role in driving sustainability strategy across a diverse portfolio of projects. As Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for leading and implementing sustainability and ESG initiatives across multiple construction projects. You will play a key role in embedding sustainable practices across the full project lifecycle — from design and procurement through to delivery — ensuring compliance, innovation, and measurable environmental performance.
This is a strategic and hands-on role, requiring the ability to balance sustainability objectives with commercial and programme demands while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Lead the development and delivery of sustainability strategies across UK projects
- Set, monitor, and report on measurable sustainability and ESG targets
- Integrate sustainability into design, procurement, and construction
- Review sustainability plans, environmental assessments, and project performance
- Engage with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to align sustainability
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and internal management systems (including ISO14001)
- Collect and analyse sustainability data to support reporting and continuous improvement
- Support and develop sustainability capability across project teams
Degree qualified in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline. 5+ years’ experience in sustainability within the construction or built environment. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, policy, and ESG frameworks. Experience with sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, LEED, or similar. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Experience contributing to or leading sustainability initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Experience leading or mentoring sustainability professionals.
