About Us: We are a distinguished main contractor known for delivering large-scale Data Centre & Mission Critical Projects. With a reputation for excellence as principal contractors, we manage complex developments and are committed to innovative, high-quality construction. Due to a recent number of project wins around Bristol, we are looking to expand our commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The Role: As the QS you will report into the Commercial Manager and you will be at the forefront of our commercial operations, managing all financial aspects of a major project valued between £30,000,000 and £200,000,000. Your strategic insight and commercial acumen will drive profitability and ensure the successful delivery of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all commercial activities related to large-scale industrial and steel frame projects.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to ensure profitability.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, including subcontractor agreements and client variations.
- Monitor project costs, prepare financial reports, and ensure accurate cost control.
- Lead the commercial team, providing guidance and support to junior members.
- Resolve commercial disputes and manage claims effectively.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and senior management to align commercial goals.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and contractual obligations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the construction industry, particularly with industrial and steel frame projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and cost control.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor a commercial team.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- MRICS or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
- Full understanding of industry-standard software and tools.
