We are recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering, groundworks and earthworks contractor who are seeking a Geotechnical Manager to join their growing team in Derby. This is a confidential opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most technically demanding infrastructure and earthworks projects.
The successful candidate will lead the geotechnical function across multiple live sites, managing a team of engineers and technicians while providing technical expertise throughout the full project lifecycle—from tender to completion.
- Oversee and manage the commercial performance of geotechnical testing across multiple sites.
- Review ground investigation reports and provide input during the tender and construction phases.
- Produce comprehensive validation reports upon project completion.
- Attend client meetings and contribute to project planning, procurement, and post-construction reviews.
- Lead and mentor the geotechnical engineering team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Proven experience managing geotechnical projects within the earthworks or civil engineering sectors. Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to manage testing budgets and performance. Ability to manage geotechnical and chemical testing data across multiple projects. Clean Full UK Driving Licence. CSCS Card.
