A leading contractor specialising in technical and mission-critical construction is seeking a BMS Manager with a strong electrical background to lead Building Management System delivery on a major project based in Chichester. This role is a key part of the MEP leadership team, responsible for overseeing the integration, commissioning, and performance of BMS systems from pre-construction through to final handover. The ideal candidate will bring both hands-on technical knowledge and strong management skills to coordinate across trades, suppliers, and client teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all BMS activities on site from design coordination to commissioning and handover
- Oversee installation and integration of BMS systems with MEP plant and electrical infrastructure
- Manage BMS subcontractors and ensure works are delivered to specification, on time and within budget
- Review and approve BMS control strategies, wiring schematics, and panel layouts
- Conduct and oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and final commissioning
- Liaise with the client, consultants, and internal teams to ensure BMS functionality aligns with project requirements
- Ensure energy efficiency, sustainability and system optimisation are incorporated into BMS delivery
- Maintain compliance with all health & safety procedures and QA standards
- Produce and maintain all documentation including O&M manuals, commissioning plans and test results
Requirements:
- Electrical engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or equivalent)
- Significant experience in managing BMS systems on large-scale construction projects
- In-depth knowledge of BMS platforms (e.g. Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Cylon)
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate with wider MEP teams
- Strong understanding of HVAC and control systems
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence
