The Opportunity A growing civil engineering and construction contractor is seeking a CAD Engineer to join its technical team based in the Midlands.
Operating across industrial, logistics, warehousing and commercial construction projects, the business delivers a wide range of groundworks, infrastructure, concrete structures and building works throughout the UK.
With a strong pipeline of projects and continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their engineering capability by appointing a CAD Engineer who can support both tender and project delivery teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with Auto CAD experience and a background in construction or civil engineering who is looking to develop their technical expertise further.
The successful candidate will also receive training in machine control technology and GPS engineering systems, providing a clear pathway into a broader engineering role.
The Role Working closely with the pre-construction, engineering and project delivery teams, you will be responsible for producing, updating and managing technical drawings for both tender submissions and live construction projects.
You will support the successful delivery of projects by ensuring drawings are accurate, coordinated and issued in line with programme requirements whilst developing your knowledge of machine control and GPS modelling technologies used within modern construction and civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities Produce and amend Auto CAD drawings for tender and live project requirements.
Prepare site layouts, construction details and engineering drawings.
Update and revise drawings in accordance with project and client requirements.
Assist engineering and project teams with technical drawing queries.
Support drawing management and document control processes.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers and site teams throughout project delivery.
Assist in the preparation and development of machine control and GPS models.
Ensure drawings comply with company standards and project specifications.
Support continuous improvement of engineering and design processes.
Requirements Previous experience using Auto CAD within a construction, engineering or civil engineering environment.
Good understanding of technical and engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience Experience within civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure projects.
Exposure to machine control or GPS technologies.
Engineering, construction or CAD-related qualification.
