Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Leeds
Salary: £50,000 £60,000 + Package
Projects: Large-scale schemes valued between £50m £150m
We are working with a Tier 1 main contractor delivering complex, high-value construction projects across Yorkshire and the North. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to support site teams in maintaining exceptional safety standards across major schemes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated H&S professional looking to step into a regional role with long-term progression potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the delivery of high health & safety standards across multiple large-scale construction sites.

Assist in the implementation of company-wide health & safety procedures and ensure adherence across site teams.

Conduct regular site inspections, reporting findings and providing guidance on corrective actions.

Help ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including CDM Regulations.

Review subcontractor method statements and risk assessments to ensure suitability and sufficiency.
-
Assist with incident investigations and contribute to close-out reports and preventative actions.

Ensure all operatives and subcontractors receive site-specific inductions.
-
Monitor permit-to-work systems and COSHH controls.
-
Ensure statutory signage and welfare facilities are in place and maintained.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date health & safety records and documentation.

Build strong working relationships with site teams to promote a positive safety culture.
-
Report directly to the Health & Safety Manager and support wider HSEQ team activities as required.
Requirements:

NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (minimum).

At least 24 years experience in a health & safety role within the construction industry.

Sound knowledge of HSE legislation and best practice.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Proactive and approachable attitude with a strong attention to detail.
