A leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on local projects with a well-established business delivering residential, commercial, and infrastructure schemes.
The Role:
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget and maximise profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing commercial aspects of groundworks and civil engineering projects
- Preparing and submitting valuations and applications for payment
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and accounts
- Cost reporting and forecasting across multiple projects
- Variations management and change control
- Producing and agreeing final accounts
- Liaising with clients, site teams, and senior management
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong understanding of NEC / JCT contracts (desirable)
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
