Quality Controller / Health and Safety Assistant

To ensure the quality of procured and manufactured goods fully complies with specifications, recognising that high quality drives productivity and strengthens our reputation in delivering manufactured parts that meet all customer requirements.
In support of a strong nuclear culture, we are committed to actively supporting manufacturing operations and maintaining quality systems across the organisation to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality goods and services.
- Key Requirements
Quality Control
Conduct inspections for:
β Goods Inwards, Machine Shop, Fabrication,Welding and Assembly
Raise and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Concession Requests, and Production Permits
Manage the calibration system and associated equipment
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Perform metrology and measurement tasks
Conduct internal quality audits
Complete customer pre-qualification documents
Health and Safety
Perform daily safety inspections on the shop floor
Maintain COSHH records
Maintain and review risk assessments
Prepare and control production permits and RAMS
Oversee Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage and stock
Act as a First Aider
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of three yearsβ experience in a similar role and environment
- Good knowledge of BS 8888:2020 (Technical Product Specification), including reading technical drawings and welding symbols (preferred)
Experience using relevant inspection equipment, such as:
β Surface Roughness Tester and CNC CMM, Faro Arm, Faro Laser, or equivalent
Qualified as an Internal Auditor to BS EN ISO 9001:2015; Lead Auditor certification preferred
Education Qualifications
Minimum academic level required: NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or ONC/OND in Mechanical or Production Engineering
Preferred academic level: NVQ/SVQ Level 4 or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production Engineering
Qualification in Dimensional Metrology
IOSH Managing Safely β 3-Day Course
Professional Qualifications
Mobility Requirements
The role will be based on Kingswinford premises, occasional travel in UK as required
