English Teacher - The Role
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that develop students' knowledge, confidence and understanding of English Language and Literature.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5
- Teaching English Language and Literature
- Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
- Developing students' reading, writing, comprehension and analytical skills
- Encouraging critical thinking, discussion and independent learning
- Assessing students' progress and providing constructive feedback
- Adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with different abilities
- Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and high expectations
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement
English Teacher - The School
This is a large, mixed secondary school in Slough, catering for approximately 1,180 students aged 11-18, with an established sixth form.
The school has high academic expectations and a strong focus on achievement, with students achieving very positive GCSE outcomes. Its most recent Ofsted inspection, in November 2023, awarded the school an Outstanding judgement under the inspection framework in place at that time.
